Week 1

After taking this week's assessment, here are my scores:

1. 60- Accepting Personal Responsibility
2. 51- Discovering Self Motivation
3. 30- Mastering Self Management
4. 41- Employing Interdependence
5. 50- Gaining Self Awareness
6. 44- Adopting Life Long Learning
7.43- Developing Emotional Intelligence
8. 46- Believing in Myself

The areas in which I did "better" in are " Accepting Personal Responsibility" (I scored 60points) and "Discovering Self Motivation" ( I scored 51 points). When it comes to why I do not do so great in school at times, and why it has taken me a long time to get to where I am (academically wise), I know it is because of me and my lack of motivation. I have never been the type of person who has been self motivated. When it came to school and the decision came down to studying or going to bed early, I chose to go to bed early. When it comes to "diets" or exercise routines, I can never stick with them because I can not keep myseld interested or motivated enough.

The area in which I scored with the second highest points was " Discovering Motivation", although that was one of the areas in which I scored high points, according to On Course grading, I need some help in that area. My score fell under the category of  "an area that will sometimes keep you on course" and after reading the results it says that struggling students have difficulty sustaining motivation, and feel stressed out. Those traits describe my emotions as I embark on my academic journey.

One of the areas in which I scored low was " Mastering Self Manaagement". I will be the first to admit that I am a procrastinationr. I usually like to be on schedules, I will write them out but I can not fins the motivation to stick to them. The second lowest category was " Employing Interdependence", which is an area I struggle with in my academic life and personal life. I know that this can push people away, but I feel that if I ask for help then I will look as if I am needed and cannot survive with out the help of others around me. Crazy mentality to have right? It does cause a lot of problems and I still continue to do that.

This isn't the first time I heard " keep doing the same things and you will continue to get the same results". I have  heard it time and time again from my Grandpa. Although I know what the quote means and I understand it, I cannot seem to incoorporate that into my life. I know that if I wait last minute to do my homework that I will get a poor grade on the assignment, but that doesn't stop me from being a procrastinator. After seeing how these things that have effected me for years, will continue to effect my school work, I know that I need to make a change.
